The Helium Fashion Police

Everyone has a friend that just doesn’t get it. Their clothes don’t fit, their hair isn’t combed or styled, and their bathroom has less product in it than a prison cell. We could stereotype them all as artists and geologists, Punk Rockers or Jackass fans, but the truth is that even an ambition Type A personality can sometimes have trouble finding the rhythm of style.

Enter the Helium Fashion Police. After finding a dreadful case of style-impotence, Helium decided to do Silicon Valley a favor and give the guy a makeover. We took Patient X to Yanin Colmenero at Umbrella Salon in downtown San Jose who took one look at the sorry soul and sponsored a hair cut on the spot. To everyone who waits months to get an appointment at Umbrella; sorry. You’re just not that ugly.

After raiding Crossroads Trading Co. and digging into the Helium Closet for some of our favorite clothes from our local designers, magic was made. The transformation was so incredible that we decided it was worthy of publishing in Helium’s first issue that will launch at Helium Magazine’s Elemental Fashion Show.
