When Helium’s 40 staff members joined together last June, we dedicated ourselves to producing more than a publication. Our mission was to synergize the elements of fashion and media in a way it had never been done before. We used networking and photo editorials to produce a popular website. We used our popular website to produce a successful event. We used the successful event to publish a print edition (The Atomic Fashion Show Zine). And now, on the eve of Silicon Valley’s biggest fashion events, we’re ready to publish our first full issue: The Elemental Fashion Show Issue.

Our debut issue will be a large format 12″x12″ fashion magazine featuring stunning photo editorials on SWATI Couture (photography by Jack Husting) and MyBfCloset.com (photography by Tim Walker) that will take you into a world of fantasy.

The Elemental Issue will be available EXCLUSIVELY at Stanford’s Charity Fashion Show on May 15th.

Large format magazine + debut issue @ largest fashion show on the West Coast = Perfect Fit

See you there…

Teaser: Someone got a makeover today!

The Helium Fashion Police

Everyone has a friend that just doesn’t get it. Their clothes don’t fit, their hair isn’t combed or styled, and their bathroom has less product in it than a prison cell. We could stereotype them all as artists and geologists, Punk Rockers or Jackass fans, but the truth is that even an ambition Type A personality can sometimes have trouble finding the rhythm of style.

Enter the Helium Fashion Police. After finding a dreadful case of style-impotence, Helium decided to do Silicon Valley a favor and give the guy a makeover. We took Patient X to Yanin Colmenero at Umbrella Salon in downtown San Jose who took one look at the sorry soul and sponsored a hair cut on the spot. To everyone who waits months to get an appointment at Umbrella; sorry. You’re just not that ugly.

After raiding Crossroads Trading Co. and digging into the Helium Closet for some of our favorite clothes from our local designers, magic was made. The transformation was so incredible that we decided it was worthy of publishing in Helium’s first issue that will launch at Helium Magazine’s Elemental Fashion Show.

Help A Friend

Do you have a friend that you are secretly embarrassed to go into public with? Snap a photo and email it with some details to FashionPolice@sjHelium.com and your friend could get a visit from Helium’s expert stylists. Just don’t tell your friend what you’re doing it for; we found that surprising Patient X was much more fun.
